DMCA notice process
This page provides a notice framework but cannot establish safe-harbor eligibility until the final entity designates an agent with the U.S. Copyright Office and publishes matching contact details.
Designated agent — not yet registered
No agent name, entity address, telephone number or monitored DMCA email is published because those details do not yet exist. They must be established and registered before launch.
Copyright notice
A notice should identify the copyrighted work, identify and locate the allegedly infringing material, provide the sender’s contact information, state a good-faith belief that use is unauthorized, state under penalty of perjury that the notice is accurate and the sender is authorized, and include a physical or electronic signature.
Response and counter-notice
The New Jersey Courier will document notices, act expeditiously where legally required, notify the affected user when appropriate, and accept legally sufficient counter-notices. A repeat-infringer policy and counsel-reviewed restoration workflow must be operational before accepting user-hosted media at scale.
Misrepresentation
Knowingly materially misrepresenting infringement or mistaken removal may create liability. Consider fair use and other authorized uses before sending a notice.
