API terms

These terms apply to The New Jersey Courier developer keys and versioned developer endpoints in addition to the general Terms and Developer Agreement.

License and attribution

A valid key grants a limited, revocable, nonexclusive right to retrieve permitted data for the registered application. Do not imply endorsement, remove story attribution, republish full reporting beyond a lawful license, or use content to create misleading or competing archives.

Security and limits

Keep keys server-side where possible, rotate compromised keys and never share a key across unrelated applications. Default limits are 60 requests per minute and 10,000 per day. You may not pool keys, disguise traffic, bypass controls, probe non-public routes or resell access.

Safety and change

Do not use the API for surveillance, discrimination, harassment, emergency dispatch or automated high-impact decisions. Versions may be deprecated with reasonable notice; access may be suspended immediately for security, legal or abuse risks.
